On the 31st of August Didcot Squadron helped out at the Didcot Hospital Fete.
We helped to both set up the stalls and run them. Cadets manned the coconut shy, the book stall, the entrance and our recruiting stall.
Whilst we were helping, we ran a radio exercise to show the public how we use radios. It also helped the cadets become more confident with them. We also demonstrated our first aid skills.
On the cadet recruiting stand there was a flight simulator which the public could have a go and fly an aircraft of their choice.
A lot of people turned up for the fete and helped to raise a lot of money for the hospital, which was the aim of the day. |

Every year my squadron helps out at the Didcot Hospital Fete.
On the fist day we go and help set up the stalls, clear the grounds, put up the tents and things like that. On the second day we go and help out at some of the stalls including the candy floss and our own cadet stand.
This is really good fun and it helps our squadron build a good relationship with the local community. |
