Air Recce (Air Recognition)

This year, we entered 4 cadets into the Wing Air Recognition Competition at Wing HQ in Abingdon (Sgt Edwards, Cpl Hill, Cpl Kenward and Cdt Peck). We also entered two models, one made by CI Webb, and one also by Cpl Kenward.

After going through pictures of 34 different aircraft (30 competition and 4 tie brakers), we ended up coming first as a team with 46 points. Cpl Kenward’s model went through to region, but unfortunately, CI Webb’s didn’t. (It was a very good model though!)

Region Air Recce was held at RAF Lynham, in Wiltshire. Teams from wings including Dorset and IOW, Herts. And Bucks, as well as our team and an individual form Wallingford Squadron and others, took part. Unfortunately, we only came fourth. There was tough competition! Cpl Kenward’s model did also unfortunately not go through.

However, well done to the Wallingford Cadet, who went through to represent the corps as an individual.
