This year the BBQ was brilliant, apart from the rain that hit us meaning that we all had to move indoors but o'well English weather. But at least there was stuff to do inside, there was the flight simulator also there was music and i think that everyone enjoyed it. There was plenty of food and drink this year so everyone was fine:)

It was really good this year and i cant wait untill it happens again next year but hopefully the rain will stay away next time.

On the 18th February, Didcot and Wantage squadrons went to RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, to meet the pilots of the Red Arrows. This was alot of fun!!

We slept over at the squadron building the night before as we had an early start. We had breakfast, got our stuff together and left Didcot at 6 am. The coach journey was 3-4 hours, this gave us a chance to talk to the Wantage cadets or catch up on sleep.

When we arrived at RAF Scampton, we had a tour around the Red Arrows both the outside and in the cockpit; this was amazing. We looked at the history of the Red Arrows and went to see the Dambuster museum. The pilots met us by one of the aircraft and we had our picture taken with them; they were very busy so they couldn't hang around but it was still brilliant for them to take the time out for pictures. We were also going to have a display but, unfortunately, the weather was bad. Instead we went to Newark Air museum; it has a Vulcan and a lots of other aircraft.

The journey back to Didcot was slow but relaxing; most people on the bus were tired and so were able to get some sleep. When we got back to the squadron we had to put the tables and chairs away from breakfast.

It was one of the best days I've spent with cadets, and I won't ever forget. I loved every minute I was there!

2007 was the 50th Anniversary of 2410 Didcot Squadron. A number of cadets and staff from the squadron travelled to RAF Lyneham to have to look at a working RAF station. The food in the mess is really nice and we had a lot of fun, including a visit to the medical centre, and some of us even started to become interested in joining the RAF.
