The Modelling Project

The cadets have been split into groups to do a World War Two airfield diorama. We are given models to do and a deadline.

Each group has three aircraft, a fuel tanker, a watch tower and an ambulance to go in their diorama.

These are for Wing Activities model competition. The best could go to the Region competition.

Building plastic model aeroplanes.

Lot of patience needed.

You can build anything but are only allowed to enter aeroplane models in any ATC competition.

The judges are very strict and even the slightest mistake could cost you a 1st place.

Aero-modelling requires a lot of skill and effort to complete an aeroplane successfully so that it looks like the real thing. There are lots of good modellers in the squadron and hopefully we will win some competitions thus year. I have won the Wing competition two years in a row,  and am hoping to win for a third time in September.

[Ed Note: Cdt Kenwood will be representing Thames Valley Wing at Regional Activities Day on Sunday 5th October 2008 following his third win in a row at Wing Activities Day.]
